Daniel Kirkwood, trading as Fourth Act. Last updated: 20 October 2026

Who we are

This website is run by Daniel Kirkwood, a sole trader, trading as Fourth Act (“Fourth Act”, “we”, “us”). We are the data controller for personal information collected through this website.

Fourth Act works in partnership with Sonic Labs. This website publishes posts about that work and links to the Sonic Labs website. Sonic Labs is a separate organisation. When you click through to its website, its own privacy policy applies, not this one.

You can contact us about privacy at privacy@fourthact.cc.

What this policy covers

This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why we collect it, how we use it, and what rights you have. We follow the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

What we collect and why

Comments and accounts. This website does not accept comments, and visitors cannot sign up or log in. We collect no personal information through either.

Search. If you use the search box, the search terms are processed to show you results. We do not link them to you.

Contact by email. If you email us, we use your email address and message to reply. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering your enquiry. If your enquiry is about a contract or service, the legal basis is taking steps at your request before entering a contract.

Server and security logs. Our web host and WordPress record technical information such as your IP address, browser type, pages requested and the time of each request. We use this to keep the website secure, find faults and block abuse. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in keeping the website safe and working.

Website administration. Only the site owner logs in, to manage the website. We hold the administrator’s name, email address and username to run that account. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in managing the website securely.
